About the Apprentice Program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR STUDENTS

Applicants must be at least 18 years old
Applicants must be high school graduates or must have successfully passed the GED
Applicants must be physically fit to perform the work of the trade.
Applicants must have transportation to class and to the employer's place of business and work site.
Applications are available year round.
Desire to succeed.

Students may consult with the Educational Office if applicants do not meet the minimum requirernents.

Apprenticeship and Training Program

Apprenticeship training is a form of education that incorporates workplace training with technical in-school training. Since 1972, IEC has conducted apprenticeship training programs under standards approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.
