IEC Chesapeake member, Hawkins Electric, receives mention in Solar Today article for installing cost-saving lighting upgrades and control systems for local car repair facility

ODENTON, Md. (May 6, 2011) – IEC Chesapeake member, Hawkins Electric of Beltsville, Md., receives mention in the American Solar Energy Society’s (ASES) Solar Today digital edition for May 2011.  The article on “Daylighting a Car Repair Facility” summarizes the energy efficiency efforts of Columbia, Md.-based car repair facility, British American Auto Care (BAAC).  Therein, Hawkins is referenced for upgrading BAAC’s lighting system from metal halide, 455-watt fixtures to Orion 192-watt fixtures having six T8 fluorescent lamps.  Additionally, Hawkins also installed a Watt Stopper system for improved daylight and occupancy controls throughout the BAAC facility.  For complete article details, please visit the Solar Today weblink below – PP. 48-49:
