In 2002, Cynergy Electric Company was started by a group of contractors who decided to branch off from a large company and begin their own business. Specializing in generators and medium voltage work, they built new relationships with former customers and their business quickly launched into success. Trusted with the task of finding an apprenticeship program for their employees, Mike Knecht set out to compare several schools in the area. He chose IEC Chesapeake because the organization focuses solely on the electrical industry and educates students in all aspects of the trade. Training and Education are two of the most important benefits of IEC Chesapeake Cynergy uses. Mr. Knecht is heavily involved in the organization. He is a member of the Workforce Development Committee and also sits on the Board of Directors.
