SUMMARY:Arc Flash Awareness
DESCRIPTION:Tyndale USA is offering this 90 minute\, live webinar on Arc Flash Awareness. \nClass being held on December 6th at 11:00 AM. \nREGISTER \nThis 90 minute Arc Flash awareness seminar taught by Scott Margolin of Tyndale USA\, will cover what is an arc\, causes\, and how what factors determine how big it will be and what arc rating is. Will also go over FR and how it works and how to choose. \nTopics to be covered: \n\nWhat is an arc\, causes\, and how what factors determine how big it will be.\nWhy FR?  What is arc rated clothing\, how it works\, etc\nBrief look at relevant standards and how they interact with one another\nWhat is an arc rating?\nHow to evaluate sales and marketing claims\, and select quality.\nComfort\, heat stress\nLayering AR\nEmerging trends in AR PPE\nReal world arc flash events\n\nCost\n\nMember and Nonmember $25.00\n\nCancellation deadline is 14 business days prior to seminar. All cancellations received after deadline and/or no-shows will be billed and/or are non-refundable. IEC Chesapeake A&T has the right to cancel class if less than 20 students register. \nAbout the Instructor: \nScott Margolin brings over 30 years of experience in arc-rated/flame resistant (FR) clothing to his role at Tyndale. Scott spent the last 16 years as International Technical Director at Westex\, after working for 10 years at DuPont – working with their FR fibers Kevlar and Nomex and leading the Nomex Flash Fire business – and serving as a firefighter for the first six years of his career. \n Scott has conducted over 1\,800 arc flashes and nearly 4\,000 flash fires at labs in the USA\, Canada\, Europe\, South America and Asia. Much of this research focused on real world hazards and PPE performance. His arc flash work includes both high and low voltage arcs in actual gear at real system energies\, pioneering the use of super slow motion HD video analysis of both the arcs and PPE response; high voltage arcs were created overhead and underground\, while LV arcs (arc-in-a-box) used MCCs\, disconnects and transformers. He also led groundbreaking experiments to quantify the duration and energy of full scale\, outdoor hydrocarbon flash fires\, and the correlation to NFPA 2112 lab PPE performance.    \nScott travels and presents globally to share his research and learnings on flash fire\, arc flash\, and combustible dust hazards to improve worker safety and the fibers\, fabrics\, and garments used to protect against these hazards. He has authored dozens of technical articles and white papers\, given over a thousand presentations all over the world\, and led many webcasts on these subjects. Significantly\, Scott has served as SME (Subject Matter Expert) to OSHA\, NFPA\, NJATC\, ASSE\, NECA and others on a wide variety of FR\, PPE\, and thermal hazard issues. \n
