Hagerstown Community College

It’s never been easier to get the training you need.

We’re just around the corner. If you live in or around western Maryland and are seeking an excellent career path, you’ve come to the right place. IEC Chesapeake (IECC), the region’s leading electrical and renewable energy contractor association and electrical apprenticeship program provider, has recently expanded into Hagerstown, Maryland. Working in conjunction with Hagerstown Community College, IECC now offers its popular Four-Year Electrical Apprenticeship Program. This recognized state- and federally-approved, registered program is designed to provide electrical apprentices with the necessary theory and practical training to earn the status of electrician.

We’ve mastered the art of hands-on training. The IECC’s experienced instructors are highly skilled in using an interactive training approach. Students are encouraged to ask questions, allowing our instructors to not only teach, but also to mentor apprentices. It’s an exciting and highly supportive learning environment that builds lifelong skills of the trade and gives you an advantage in the job market.

Earn while you learn. IEC Electrical Apprenticeship Programs combine the on-the-job training and formal related technical instruction you need to prepare you for this high-demand field. That means you get paid to work while you receive a top-notch education in the electrical field. Here’s how it works: throughout the duration of the program, apprentices work full-time in an electrical position and attend classes two nights per week, providing the 8,000 hours of on-the-job and classroom training required for the journeyman electrician license. Because the curriculum is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship Training, students receive nationally-recognized credentials as a Journeyman Electrician upon satisfactory completion of the program.
