ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Paul Wilson Abernathy is a Professional Licensed Journeyman and Master Electrician with over 38 years of experience in electrical design, instruction, and code interpretation, specializing in the National Electrical Code® (NEC). He has trained over 80,000 professionals and serves on NFPA code-making panels #5 and #17, along with multiple NEMA, UL, and ASTM committees.
As Founder, CEO, and President of Electrical Code Academy, Inc., Mr. Abernathy is nationally recognized for his NEC expertise and is the inventor of the Fast Trax® NEC® learning system. He currently serves as Director of Technical Services at Encore Wire, overseeing the strategic direction and operations of the Codes and Standards department. He is responsible for managing training programs, engineering documentation, and technical field support for Encore Wire products. A recognized authority on the National Electrical Code® (NEC) and other model codes, he plays a key role in company-wide code initiatives and develops NEC-focused technical content and presentations used in AHJ-regulated applications.
Mr. Abernathy is also the host of the syndicated podcast and video series Master The NEC, which focuses on educating listeners about the National Electrical Code® (NEC) and related electrical topics. The series has garnered over 2 million unique downloads to date.
