Third-Party Speakers are an important and vital enhancement to the IECC electrical apprenticeship program. Members who have a vital skill set, and/or, skill set related to specific products, are encouraged to coordinate with our Education Department to get in front of Years 1-4 in the Electrical Apprenticeship Program.

This year, as he has done in past years, Ron Greenfield of O.T. Hall & Son, Inc. is stepping up to the plate as a Third-Party Speaker. Ron has forty- one years in the electrical trade, twenty- nine of those with O.T. Hall & Son. He has worked across the industry in distribution, for a contractor, and as a product manufacturer representative.

The training Ron will offer includes:

  • Lock -Out / Tag-out
  • Test and Measurement Safety
  • Basic Data Comm
  • Conduit Bending
  • Basic’s of Transformers
  • Cadweld Certification
  • L.E.D Lighting Fixtures

We believe in and value education and experience; these are the two elements our Third-Party Speakers bring to the table. During their four- year educational journey to Journeyman, our students receive a combination of class time, hands-on, and on the job training.   Our Third-Party Speakers, taken from among our chapter members, bring a real-world element to the class room conversation.

Many thanks to Ron, and our other volunteer speakers.

Training is our core mission and engaged members make it happen!

Grant Shmelzer, Executive Director  IEC Chesapeake/IECC  (Independent Electrical Contractor of the Chesapeake)
